About Me

- Name: Colin HARMAN
- Location: Kemsing near Sevenoaks, Kent, United Kingdom
After 40 odd years in the construction industry, I jumped at the chance of early retirement in September 2004. I have never once regretted the decision. The pension is not large but it pays the bills and is aided by the mortgage having been paid and Clare and Nick having left home. I now have the time to do what I want to do rather than what the job dictates. The first thing I got into was picture framing (hence the address colin-framous that appears). I got that to a stage where it was getting to be more than a hobby and I could develop it as a business but that would result in the stress of running a business albeit small. I spent 25 years working overseas (Jamaica, Algeria, South Africa, Poland, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat and many visits to Egypt and Hong Kong) and love travelling - not the travelling itself but being in foreign parts. If I could also do something worthwhile whilst travelling well ..... So I applied to VSO, BESO, GOAL but its all so long winded and bureaucratic I decided to just go to Sri Lanka and do something. This is the story of my second visit.
